The Reparenting Space

Are you a parent who has faced difficult times? Do you want to find new ways to connect with your children and create a family full of strength and peace?

 

The "Root & Rise" course is a six-week journey designed to help you break free from cycles of trauma and build a brighter future for your family. We know that past hurts can affect how we parent, but we also know that healing is possible. This course is for parents who have experienced trauma and want to create a new, positive legacy.

Our course is built on the belief that real change comes from practical, hands-on learning, not just words. That’s why we use simple activities, stories, and shared experiences to help you understand yourself and your children better. You don’t need to be a reader to take part—all our lessons are designed to be accessible and engaging for everyone.

 

What We'll Explore Together

 

Week 1: Who Am I and What Do I Bring? We start by creating a safe space to get to know each other. We’ll gently explore how past hurts can shape us, using simple stories and visual activities. You’ll discover your own strengths and learn that you are more than your past.

Week 2: The Brain Story and Attachment This week, we’ll uncover the secrets of the brain in a simple, fun way.  You’ll learn how your own brain works and how to help your child's brain grow healthy and strong. We’ll practice simple self-calming exercises to help you feel more in control and centred, even when life gets tough.

​

Week 3: The Power of Play Play isn't just for kids—it's the secret to building strong family bonds! We'll discover why play matters, get hands-on with a playkit, and learn how to use games to connect with your children and teach them about emotions.

Week 4: Setting Healthy Boundaries (Physical Health) This week is all about taking care of your family's physical well-being. We’ll use fun activities like a "Healthy Living Circuit" and a pretend "Supermarket Sweep" to learn about healthy food, exercise, and how to create positive routines that support your whole family.

Week 5: Family Champions You are not meant to parent alone. We’ll explore who can be a champion for your family, from friends and neighbours to community groups. We'll also have community leaders visit and learn some simple, life-saving first-aid skills that will give you confidence to handle emergencies.

Week 6: The Many Shapes of Family In our final session, we celebrate your journey! We'll talk about the different shapes a family can take, from co-parenting to solo parenting. Most importantly, we'll build a "Family Strengths Tree" together, celebrating all the new skills and positive changes you have made. You’ll leave with a new sense of hope and a community of support.
